Does calling an exfil finish the deployment?
No. The standard process requires holding the site and boarding the helicopter.

The official Hajin guide describes active exfil sites selected from a pool and marked with green smoke. A previously known site is not guaranteed to be active in the next deployment.
Exfil flares are loud and visible from a distance. Other squads can use the site as an ambush point. Coordinate your approach and boarding rather than treating the call as a safe end screen.
Radiation changes the available time and terrain risk. The HUD shows the storm timer and the map shows the hazard. There is no verified universal minute at which every squad must leave.
Different outcomes are handled differently. The table separates published inventory and progression rules; it does not override a task’s own wording.

| What you have | Published rule or required check |
|---|---|
| Items left in the FOB Stash | Remain stored rather than entering the deployment |
| Unsecured deployed gear and Backpack items | Subject to loss if you fail to extract |
| Items placed in available Secure Slots | Have the slot protection described by the game; the whole bag is not insured |
| Intact Printer Ingredients | Need successful extraction before being stored and used at the FOB |
| Looted Recipes / Weapon Manuals | Converted on successful exfil into the relevant unlock, rather than remaining ordinary inventory |
| DMZ XP earned during the deployment | Still counts toward DMZ Player Level even if exfil fails |
| A specific mission or Order | Check its actual completion and extraction conditions; shared credit is not assumed |
Eligible resource loot is broken down into Synthetics, Electronics, Chemicals or Metals. Intact ingredients remain separate objects. Looted recipes have their own successful-exfil conversion into an unlock.
Do not treat a recipe, a resource total and an intact ingredient as three names for the same thing. Inspect the returned inventory and the recipe menu before planning the next craft.
An eliminated Operator becomes MIA. Paying for recovery preserves its Traits but returns no equipment. The ability to rescue an Operator does not insure everything it carried.
DMZ Player Level can still advance from earned XP after a failed extraction. That retained level progress does not mean the lost gear was recovered.
The official guide mentions alternate exits such as a Fulton balloon or Flare. Their full activation, unlock and consumption rules have not been verified here, so they are not presented as step-by-step alternatives.
After returning, use the After Action Report to review results and Orders, then inspect the Stash and any new recipe unlock. Confirm the actual outcome before selling materials or starting another run.

The official FOB guide says earned DMZ XP still counts toward DMZ Player Level. Gear and task outcomes follow their own rules; retained XP does not recover a lost loadout.
No. Protection applies to items in the relevant Secure Slots, not automatically to the entire Backpack.
